Laura Suárez is a songwriter and educator whose gift for rhythm and rhyme has naturally evolved into writing for children.  After spending over thirty years working as an educator by day and a performing songwriter by night, Laura has begun writing stories which celebrate Hispanic culture. With a graduate degree in Multicultural Education and credentials in Elementary Education, Bilingual Education, and Educational Administration, she has worked as a classroom teacher, administrator, and Reading Specialist. Through her writing and music, Laura is now dedicated to promoting the values of compassion and equity towards people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Laura’s first children’s book is a celebration of her culture and a tribute to her favorite aunt Queta, who taught her the importance of family, self-sacrifice and well-made flour tortillas.
